About this event
Hi!
I am delighted to share with you my passion for Amazigh jewelry through an online conference Sunday 26th of February.
I am not a jewelry academical researcher but a Moroccan Amazigh woman who asks herself why we do not own anymore our grandmothers jewelry.
There are several reasons why they lost their treasures: poverty, colonization, migrations, departure of jewelers, lack of interest of silver old jewelry compared to gold ones.
This conference will show the specificities according to different amazigh tribes of Morocco with also links with outfits and ouchems (Amazigh Tatoos) but tell some women families stories including mine.
Where are our lost jewelry nowadays and how can we get our heritage back?
We will try to answer to this question at the end of the session, the link with cultural appropriation and I will explain you my TIMAZIGHIN project work to reclaim our jewelry heritage as Amazigh women.
